Cherish Women’s Conference – C3 San Diego

Last weekend, We had the joy of taking pictures of the beautiful and lovely ladies of the C3 church during their Cherish Women’s Conference. Picture Bakery made beautiful custom signage for the event with affirming and uplighting words such as I am cherished, and I am beautiful. To add to the entertainment that evening, there was a lighting hot cotton candy bar, Kettle corn, and of course a place to capture all the memories. Glad we could take photos, meet all the C3 ladies, and give back : )

Cheers, The Picture Bakery team (Nicole, Jessica, Rachelle, and Sheryl)

UCSD’s Summer Celebration All Staff Picnic 2015

All Staff Picnic is an annual event that is hosted by UCSD in appreciation of their staff members. Seeing the staff members having fun with summer props, and silly mustaches was the highlight!

Our frame design was a beach themed consisting of some palm leaves on the sides and a cute star fish on the  bottom, we added even more excitement with fun umbrellas and lei’s.  Thank you UCSD. We look forward to seeing you at your next company event!

UCSD’s Celebrate Summer Nights 2015

Celebrate Summer Nights 2015 is an annual event hosted by UCSD in honor of their night staff. Last year we celebrated their inner super hero and this year we took them to the beach! Our frame design backdrop allowed us to place them in-between two palm trees. The night staff love Picture Bakery! They are certainly not afraid to put on props and make silly poses. We really enjoy their enthusiasm and quirkiness.

Best Photo Spots in San Diego – Torrey Pines State Reserve – Breathtaking Ocean Views, a must see for tourists, photographers, and well, anyone that loves scenery!

There are some amazing places to take photos of in San Diego. One of the best locations, on the list is Torrey Pines State Reserve.

Where else can you catch some majestic views of the ocean and end up on beautiful Torrey Pines beach. We hiked the beach trail (3/4 mile), which is not very strenuous, there are 5 other trails to chose from, and all of them gorgeous!!

Reserve parking cost $12 on weekdays and $15 on weekends, you can also park further down the road for free. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a small water bottle, and most importantly bring your camera or camera phone. Life is too short, and you’ll want to document these spectacular views!Torrey Pines photo by sheryl maries

An Evening at the Omni Hotel with Corelation

Having an event at the Omni Hotel is an experience like no other!

The Omni is located in the heart of Downtown San Diego and has a personal entrance to the Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres. Guests marveled over the view of the bright lights of Downtown and the Stadium throughout the Corelation Inc. Client Conference. Being walking distance from some of San Diego’s greatest restaurants and bars also allowed for much enjoyment throughout their stay in San Diego.

The Omni Hotel ‘s five-star staff continuously checked in throughout the event to ensure that our needs were fully met—and they absolutely were! Chris Luersen, the Conference Services Manager at the Omni Hotel, was incredibly helpful and hands-on in this successful event.

Corelation made their client experience spectacular with a simple blue backdrop, sponsored by Stickley On Security. Attendees popped by to take photos with silly props and fun poses, plus also took team photos. Everyone had fun!

Take BETTER photos with your phone at the Fair

Only at the fair, can you watch the pigs race, see all the new kitchen gadget tools, eat the best corn on the cob, sample Mexican funnel cake with Turkey Legs, and end the evening with deep fried Oreo’s.

Here are three easy tips so you can take better photos of you and your family.

1) It’s all about that frame. If your taking a landscape picture. Frame in a creative way by using rule of thirds. Imagine drawing a tick, tac, toe, on your picture- where the vertical lines meet the horizontal lens is where you should place your subject to get more dimension. With that said, try other ways of framing your shot. Take some fun pictures of eating a funnel with you subject close up, and use your camera to document your life in a creative way.

2) Turn your camera flash off. Too much flash is ugly and make subjects looked washed out! Try to capture the natural lighting. The San Diego fair has a lot of of natural lighting (at night). The ferris wheel and other rides have bright colors that can accentuate your photo. Turn off your flash. On the iPhone, click on the upper left hand corner, and select off.

3) Lock it down! Auto exposure give you more control over what area of the picture you expose for. For example, if you want to expose for someone’s face, just press and hold the persons face until you see the AE/AF lock appear on the screen. Then take the picture. Use the AE lock when your subject is backlit, or your photo looks too dark.

Thank you for being part of our world. We challenge you to play at the fair, create some incredible memories.

We would love to see your pictures on our Facebook page, send them to us, and above all—Have fun!

Cheers to a beautiful summer!
